Amy Poehler

  Amy Poehler was born September 16th, 1971. She is an American actor and comedian. After studying improv at Chicago's Second City and Improv Olympic in the early 1990s, Poehler co-founded the improvisational-comedy troupe Upright Citizens Brigade. The group was formed in 1996 and relocated to New York City. Their show was included on Comedy Central's half-hour sketch comedy series in 1998. Poehler together with other comedians, created the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. In 1998, Poehler joined Saturday Night Live's sketch comedy cast. In 2004, she was a co-anchor for Saturday Night Live's Weekend Update, to 2008 when she resigned from the show to take on the role of Leslie Knope on Parks and Recreation. She played the role of a voice actor in the movies Shrek the Third and Horton Hears a Who Free Birds. Poehler is an executive producer of the TV show Welcome to Sweden. She also produces the TV series Broad City, Difficult People. Duncanville. Three Busy Debras. and Russian Doll. From 2015 until 2015, she voiced Eleanor for the live-action/CG Alvin and the Chipmunks movie franchise. Then, she was replaced by Kaley Cuoco. Poehler received an honorary star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in December 2015 for her contribution to the world of television. In 2014, she was awarded the Golden Globe Award as Best Actress in a Television Musical or Comedy Series and in 2012, she won the Critics' Choice Award for Best Actress for Comedy Series. Tina Fey and she won the 2016 Primetime Emmy Award as Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series.
