Sarah Hyland
Sarah Hyland was the daughter of actors Melissa D. Canaday (New York City) and Edward James Hyland (New York City). She started her career in the industry when she was just 4 years old with commercial work as well as voice-overs. Private Parts was her first film. The Object of My Affection (1998) was followed by Another World (1964) where she was "Rain Wolfe" the child found in a park, who was taken care of and nurtured by Josie. Sarah would be working with Amy Carlson ("Josie") a few more times: Falcone (2000). Law & Order (1990). Law & Order: Trial by Jury (2005). Sarah was a part of Jennifer Love Hewitt's The Audrey Hepburn Story(2000) as one of the Audrey Hepburns. The next year, she was a part on ABC's The Wonderful World of Disney: Annie (1999), which starred Audra McDonald, Victor Garber, Kristin Chernoweth, Joe Guld's Secret ((2000) as well as Falcone ((2000)). Alongside her film and television work, Sarah studied voice, jazz, ballet, hip-hop and tap Theatre Dance, and performed in her Theatre and tap dance classes in "Reel to Real" at Lincoln Center as invited performers.A born in New York and raised there, Sarah spent much of her time in television, film and voice-overs for radio commercials, as well as traveling with her father Edward James Hyland, and working at different theaters across the United States. Her mother was her caregiver until she was two years older. Then, she attended public school. She was admitted in the 6th grade to PPAS (Professional Performing Arts School), where she remained until she graduated in 2008 When Sarah was 18 years old and moved to Los Angeles, CA and within two weeks had landed a pilot named "My American Family". The name was changed to Modern Family (2009, after Sarah was chosen). As of now, Sarah portrays "Haley Dunphy", the eldest Dunphy child. Modern Family (2009) was nominated for an Emmy award for Outstanding Comedy Series.
